Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom ♫

As much as I love Mario, I'll have to admit that ever since I played the his first game, I instantly became a Sonic fan. Sonic's is everything Mario isn't: fast, cool, blue and awesome!

Naturally, there was an implicit obligation, as a fan, to paint something in memory of the poor hedgehog's best days. Rather than a simple portrait or full body painting of him, I decided to do things a bit differently: I wanted to capture the feel of Sonic in a subtler way.

The loop and clear blue sky were a given, but it was the sense of speed that proved a bit more difficult. It took a couple of tries, but I'm pretty happy with the final result.
